PANTALEON Starts Two Major New Productions: You Are Wanted and Jack the Ripper

- First German Amazon Originals Series You Are Wanted Shooting in Berlin
- Shooting Starts on SAT.1 TV Event Jack the Ripper in Lithuania

Kronberg im Taunus, May 31th, 2016 – PANTALEON Entertainment has started shooting the first German Amazon Originals series You Are Wanted. Principal photography began last week in Berlin. Matthias Schweighöfer not only plays the lead alongside German A-listers Alexandra Maria Lara, Karoline Herfurth and Tom Beck – he is also directing his very first TV series. The cast also includes Toni Garrn, Catrin Striebeck, Katrin Bauerfeind, Louis Hofmann, Edin Hasanovic, Lucie Aron, Maximilian Meyer-Bretschneider and many others.

The first six episodes of You Are Wanted will premiere on Amazon Prime in Germany and Austria. Matthias Schweighöfer plays the part of Lukas Franke, a happy and settled family man, whose life is suddenly turned upside down when he is hacked by a mysterious stranger and his entire identity kidnapped. A nightmare begins for Lukas, in which the borders between reality and deception disappear. Matthias Schweighöfer: “I’m extremely happy to have such a great cast on this project. As always, we strive to combine big names with terrific new faces in our productions, which we’ve pulled off with You Are Wanted again. And working with close personal friends like Alex, Karo and Tom naturally gives me a good feeling as director, too.”

You Are Wanted is produced by PANTALEON Entertainment AG, Warner Bros. Entertainment GmbH and Warner Bros. International Television Production Deutschland GmbH. Producers are Dan Maag, Matthias Schweighöfer, Marco Beckmann and Willi Geike. Shooting on You Are Wanted will take place in Berlin and Brandenburg until August. Matthias Schweighöfer will co-direct with DoP Bernhard Jasper. The idea and screenplays were written by Richard Kropf, Hanno Hackfort and Bob Konrad.

At the same time, PANTALEON Entertainment is launching another tentpole project: Shooting is also starting on SAT.1 TV Event Film Jack the Ripper in Lithuanian capital Vilnius. Starring Sonja Gerhardt as Anna Kosminski, it will retell the gripping story of the unsolved mystery of the 130-year old serial killing spree in a contempo fashion. The cast includes Vladimir Burlakov, Sabin Tambrea, Nicholas Farrel, Peter Gilbert Cotton and Falk Hentschel. It is the first made-for-TV tentpole film made by PANTALEON Films (producers Dan Maag, Matthias Schweighöfer, Marco Beckmann), who are co-producing with Fireworks Entertainment (producer Marian Redmann). It will be directed by Sebastian Niemann. “After our string of hit movies in co-operation with ProSiebenSat.1, tackling made-for-TV movies with them is a major strategic step in growing our partnership. Also, I’m extremely pleased to be working with Sebastian Niemann again. It’s just the first step toward many other great projects we’re planning,” says PANTALEON Entertainment CEO Dan Maag.
