PANTALEON Entertainment AG Releases preliminary results for 2015 – Expectations significantly exceeded

- Income from ordinary business activities up 156 percent to €20.3 million (2014: €7.9 million)
- Operative break-even despite high investments in PANTAFLIX
- Next growth spurt with PANTAFLIX launch in Summer of 2016

Kronberg im Taunus, May 9, 2016 – According to preliminary results for the 2015 business year, PANTALEON Entertainment AG (XETRA: PAL, ISIN: DE000A12UPJ7) has exceeded all expectations with a significant revenue growth and finished the financial year 2015 despite high investment costs in PANTAFLIX with an operating profit. Income from ordinary business activities climbed by a whopping 156 percent, from €7.92 million in 2014 to €20.31 million in 2015. The company achieved an operating profit from ordinary business activities (adjusted EBT) amounting to EUR 0.1 million compared to EUR -0.3 million in the previous year.
The preliminary operative results before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) were a profit of €8.8 million last year, over a loss of €0.3 million the previous year. For the first time for the financial year 2015, PANTALEON Entertainment AG will be filing audited consolidated financial statements for all subsidiaries' business activities. In addition, finished PANTALEON film productions will now be counted as capital assets and mostly written off directly, to depict actual film production business activities more transparently. Therefore, comparability of the two EBITDA figures for 2014 and 2015 is limited.
"We can be very satisfied with what we've achieved so far. But this is just the beginning of a very exciting journey," says PANTALEON Entertainment AG CEO Dan Maag. "The 2016 business year got off to a good start with several positive developments. And with the upcoming launch of PANTAFLIX in Summer, we're about to launch the next growth cycle."
Audited final figures will be released in the 2015 annual report on June 17, 2016 on the company's internet page under group.pantaleonentertainment.com in the Investor Relations section.
