Berlin, December 20, 2016 – PANTALEON Entertainment AG (XETRA: PAL, ISIN: DE000A12UPJ7) will co-produce the theatrical adaptation of Jessica Koch's bestseller "Dem Horizont so nah" with STUDIOCANAL, the theatrical distribution arm of CANAL+ Group, part of French media conglomerate Vivendi.
The joint venture with STUDIOCANAL marks a milestone in PANTALEON Entertainment's dynamic expansion, showing the group can continue its string of major box-office hits along with the global roll-out of innovative Video-on-Demand platform pantaflix.com. For PANTALEON Films, it's the next promising and exciting project in the feature film pipeline, which is far exceeding initial planning: Thanks to several years of investment in project development, PANTALEON now has so many ongoing and upcoming film projects in the pipeline the production arm is set to see considerable growth in coming years.
"Dem Horizont so nah" is the debut novel by Jessica Koch, which was published in March 2016 and quickly climbed the major German best-seller charts, both Bild and Amazon. The book is the first of the "Danny Trilogy". Part 2, "Dem Abgrund so nah" was published in July 2016, while Part 3, "Dem Ozean so nah", the climactic finale, was just published a few days ago.
